SEO & GEO

Showing up on Google is no longer enough. Now you also have to show up in AI answers.

The service

SEO is not a trick to fool Google; it is the work of making your company findable at the exact moment someone is looking for what you sell. And that moment has moved: some people still type into Google and scan results, but a growing share now asks an AI assistant and accepts the answer it gives. These are two different arenas, with different rules, and today you have to play in both.

The foundation is technical and non-negotiable. If the site is slow, if pages cannot be indexed, if the heading structure is confusing or if there is no structured data, nothing else matters: the search engine cannot understand what is there. We always start here, with an audit that separates what actually blocks indexing from what merely annoys.

Then comes content, which is where most companies give up. It is not about writing more articles; it is about understanding which questions your customers ask before buying and having, on your site, a page that answers each one better than the competition does. Keywords are the map, not the destination: the destination is answering a buying intent.

For local businesses there is a further arena, and it is the most profitable of all: appearing on the map and in the local results block when someone searches for the service in your area. A complete and consistent Google listing, the right categories, reviews that get answered, the same address and hours everywhere. It is unglamorous work that makes the phone ring.

GEO, Generative Engine Optimization, is the new layer. When someone asks an AI model "who is the best company for X in Braga", the answer is not ten links: it is two or three names. Being one of them depends on concrete things — clear text that answers questions instead of selling, structured data telling the machine who the company is and what it does, consistent information about you across the web, and files like llms.txt that serve the models directly. It is a field only a few years old and almost nobody in Portugal is working it, which means there is still time to arrive early.

We practise this on our own site, and this page is part of it. We measure both sides: positions, impressions and non-brand traffic on the classic SEO side; and, on the GEO side, whether the models know the company, what they say about it and who they recommend in its place. That second measurement is available as a free tool, if you want the picture before talking to us.

Frequently asked questions

seo & geo
How long before SEO shows results?

First signals appear in 2 to 3 months; consistent results in 6 to 12. SEO is compound interest: today's work pays for years, but it does not pay next week. If you need traffic now, paid traffic is the right answer to that question, and the two work well together.

What is GEO and how is it different from SEO?

SEO is being found in a list of results; GEO is being cited in an answer. When an AI assistant answers a question, it picks two or three sources instead of showing ten links. Part of the technical work is similar (structure, structured data, clarity), but the goal changes: instead of competing for a place in the list, you compete to be the source the machine considers reliable enough to quote.

Do you guarantee first place on Google?

No, and be wary of anyone who does. Nobody controls Google's algorithm, and whoever promises positions is either talking about terms nobody searches for or using techniques that eventually get the site penalised. What we guarantee is the work, transparency about what we do, and reports that show real progress.

My business is local. How do I show up in searches in my area?

Through local SEO, which is a different discipline: a complete Google business listing with the right categories, address and hours consistent everywhere the company appears, reviews that get replies, and content that mentions the area you serve. For many local businesses it is the best return on investment available, and among the fastest to show signs.

Do I need a new website to do SEO?

Not always. Many sites only need technical fixes, better structure and new content. But if the foundation is slow, not responsive, or does not let you edit titles and text, you hit a ceiling quickly. We audit first and tell you honestly which case you are in.

How do you measure results?

With numbers that matter to the business, not vanity metrics. On the classic side: rankings for the words that generate sales, impressions, clicks and non-brand traffic. On the GEO side: whether AI models know the company and recommend it in its sector and area. And, ultimately, enquiries and sales — the only metric that pays the bills.
